THE RIGHT WAY TO STYLE PRINTS AND PATTERNS.

Hello, so today is going to be on how to style patterns and prints. This is something I really struggle with myself, actually. I find putting prints and patterns together really daunting, and, I'm sure I'm not alone on this either. So, I thought I'd write about some tips and tricks so you could wear them easily without feeling silly when you go out. Let's get into it:

MIX SMALL PRINTS WITH LARGE PRINTS.

When you put the smaller print and the larger print together, the smaller print acts as a neutral in the outfit. So, where you would probably wear a, kind of, white plain top with the outfit if you were going the easier route with it, wearing a smaller print will just act like the neutral. You can implement this rule on any colors you want to. It also doesn't matter what goes as the top or bottom.

WEAR PATTERNS WITH DENIM.

This is another really easy way to style patterns. You can switch up how you wear it. It can be either on top or the bottom, it doesn't matter, this rule applies either way. Denim, again, acts like a neutral. Just because patterns and prints are a bit loud and in your face, you kind of have to use other items(like denim) to kind of balance it out, if that makes sense. Even with a patterned dress, jumpsuit or playsuit, if you have no idea on what to put over it, a denim jacket is a way to style it.

STAY IN THE SAME COLOR RANGE.

With an outfit that has different patterns and prints and still in the same color range, it becomes easier to match when put together. Example: a black and white leopard print top paired with a black and white star pattern bottom.

Especially since white and black patterns are so easy to put together. They are really so versatile. But, the more you get comfortable with styling patterns you can move to more daring colors.

USE NEUTRALS.

Using nude, black, white and metallic colours. I personally like to wear a plain coloured top when wearing a very daring color pattern bottom. It makes it so much easier, especially if you have to idea on what to do with a very bright coloured pattern.

THANK YOU.
